Firefox Add-on FAQs

Is the Firefox add-on free?

Yes. The ResProxy Firefox add-on is free to install. You need an active ResProxy subscription to use the proxy servers, but the add-on itself costs nothing.

Does it support Firefox containers?

Yes. The add-on works with Firefox Multi-Account Containers. You can assign different proxy profiles to different containers for isolated browsing sessions.

Can I use SOCKS5 with remote DNS?

Yes. Firefox natively supports SOCKS5 with remote DNS resolution. The add-on enables this by default, ensuring your DNS queries are resolved at the proxy server location.

Does it work on Firefox for Android?

Currently, the add-on is designed for Firefox Desktop. Firefox for Android has limited extension support, but we are monitoring Mozilla's progress on mobile add-on APIs.

Will it conflict with Firefox's built-in proxy settings?

The add-on manages Firefox's proxy settings directly. When enabled, it overrides manual proxy configuration. Disabling the add-on restores your previous settings automatically.

How do I configure per-site proxy rules?

Open the add-on settings and navigate to the Rules tab. Add URL patterns or domain names to the proxy list or bypass list. Wildcard patterns like *.example.com are supported.
